Personal Branding Photography, Wedding Photographer Bedfordshire

This is the very talented Jack Montague, a wedding photographer based in Bedfordshire. It was a real pleasure to work on Jack’s personal branding photography for his business. Jack has always loved photography and has now turned his passion into his career. He is the first one to admit that he is now completely obsessed with wedding photography and is always pushing himself to push his creativity further. It was great fun to work with Jack to capture photographs of him in action that he could use to market his photography business.

The golden hour is such a wonderful time to capture portraits, especially wedding portraits. It was the perfect time to capture images of Jack in action, as if he were capturing those beautiful sunset portraits at a wedding.

Jack is a natural with a camera, you can see how happy holding a camera makes him even when just pretending to take a shot. He has incredible attention to detail and a real passion for his craft.

Headshot Photography London, Joanna Sterling, Author

One of the best things about being a headshot photographer in London is meeting wonderful people with a variety of talents and passions. Joanna has many talents, she is an Author, Podcaster and Collector. Her collection of contemporary, vintage and period brooches has been amassed for over 30 years!

Prior to our personal branding, headshot session Joanna told me that she has never felt comfortable in front of the camera. I’m thrilled to share with you that after our session she told me that she “found the experience relaxed and easy”. That’s why I love what I do! To capture others in a way that makes them feel at ease and allows them to truly see themselves and be proud.

When you are the brand of your business, it’s great to have headshots that you cannot wait to use to market yourself.

This headshot photography session took place at my home studio in Sidcup. Working in a relaxed environment we used a number of different setups using natural lighting to capture Joanna’s true likeness.

We were able to try a variety of outfits, poses and brooch choices while also having a lovely chat and getting to know one another.

It was a pleasure getting to know Joanna, to hear about her stories, her podcasts and of course her brooches.

Personal Branding Photography, Wedding Photographer

This is the lovely Emily Sandoval. It was such a pleasure to work on Emily’s personal branding photography for her business. Emily is a fantastic ball of energy who loves to photograph fun and quirky weddings. It was an absolute delight to spend time with Emily to capture engaging and authentic images of her playful nature for her to use to market herself and her photography business.

We decided to shoot in Richmond Park, London during the golden hour. This allowed me to create images that simulated the environment that Emily would normally shoot in. She loves to capture candid images of fun loving couples enjoying a quirky celebration in a beautiful place.

As you can tell from her images Emily is not shy in front of the camera. She loves silliness! You will often find her lying in the mud, hiding behind trees or crawling through the grass to ensure that she gets the images you are looking for.

Halloween Wedding at Tudor Lodge, Pinner

2020 has certainly been a year we will never forget, and for newly weds Meg and Charlie this is especially true. Despite all the restrictions and against all the odds, Meg and Charlie were determined to tie the knot on Halloween, just as they had always dreamed. After some creative tweaks to their original plans, they stuck to their guns and made their dreams come true. This pair proved that love truly does conquer all!

I feel so honoured to have been a part of this very special day. It proved that a celebration of true love can never be downsized, even if the number of guests has to be. And Meg and Charlie’s love for one another is far more powerful than any hurdle that comes their way.

It is my privilege to share this video, capturing the magical day that was Meg and Charlie’s Halloween wedding! So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the newly weds! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together, full of adventure, laughter and love.

Outdoor Family Photography, Sidcup

It was a lovely afternoon taking these natural shots for an impromptu outdoor family photography shoot in Sidcup. October is the perfect time to wrap up warm and go for a woodland winter stroll and a play in the local park, both great locations for outdoor photoshoots and for capturing children being in the moment. I love documentary photography and watching this little one smile and capturing those small genuine moments of joy reminds me to keep playing and to take pleasure in the small the moments.

Commercial Photography Cornwall | The Kitchen, Mawgan Porth

I always look forward to a commercial photography shoot in Cornwall, especially at the Kitchen with the lovely team at The Park, Mawgan Porth.

I love my commercial photography shoots at The Park in Cornwall because I always aim to capture the beach vibes and vibrant colours that surrounds this beautiful holiday park. It reminds me of all the things I love about my home in the west country. On this occasion my love for The Park was heightened by being surrounded by such gorgeous food, lovely coffees, indulgent hot chocolates and the most delicious looking milkshakes I have ever seen! I think I may have put on several pounds just dreaming of eating all that lay before me and my camera.

For delicious evening meals or an afternoon coffee and cake I would definitely recommend a visit to The Park in Cornwall.

James Walker, Performers Headshot, South East London

This is the multi-talented James Walker. James is a fantastic musician and all round performer. During his session we focused mainly on using natural lighting. This enabled me to capture images that truly reflected James’s look.

It was fantastic to work with James and there were many laughs had during his shoot (I love the picture of him laughing).

You may have already seen James playing in a number bands and festivals around South East London. He has also performed in a number of local musicals and cropped up in TV adverts. .

There is no doubt that you will be able to see him perform again very soon (when the singing ban is lifted).

Matthew Farrelly, Actors Headshot, South East London

This is the lovely Matthew Farrelly. Matthew is new to the performance industry and wanted some Actors Headshots for his new agent. In order to capture authentic images that captured his true likeness, I used a mixture of natural lighting and studio lighting with a number of backdrops. This enabled me to capture a variety of images for Matthew’s portfolio and Spotlight page.

It was great to work with Matthew and I’m sure you will see him crop up in a few new projects very soon.

Family Photography Bromley

It was such a pleasure to be invited to deliver a family photography shoot in Bromley as a gift for a sister. Her sister had always wanted professional images taken of all her boys together to display in her family home and it was a real privilege to be the one to capture this for her.

These boys were fantastic throughout their shoot. I often find that when shoots are in the comfort of your own home, children are more settled and are eager to show me their world rather than being daunted by the formalities of entering a photography studio. There is also more freedom with home photography shoots as once we have captured the images of your children they are free to play while we focus on other shots, such as couples photography or new born photography. It is also useful for small snack breaks, or little bribe breaks for certain shots ;) I had a wonderful time meeting this lovely family, it was such a pleasure to spend time with them all.

Dominic Boyle, Actors Headshot, South East London

This is the very lovely and talented Dominic Boyle. Dom wanted some new natural looking headshots for his agent so we used natural lighting and selection of backdrops to capture the look he was after.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Dom and I’m sure you will see him in some amazing projects very soon. You may have spotted him already in A Monster Calls and Love Type D. To find out more about what he is up to you can follow him on IMDB or contact his agent directly at D&B Academy.

Outdoor Family Photoshoots, South East London

I love being asked to photograph families outdoors, especially at a location the children are familiar with and are free to play. This way together we are able to capture beautiful, natural images that truly capture the family. This family photo shoot did just that :)

The chosen location for this outdoor family photoshoot in Chislehurst worked fantastically. The long grass captured the light perfectly to create beautiful, sun-kissed, film like images (as well as acting as a great location to play lions and cheetahs hunting in the long grass). The children knew the area well and were happy to play, explore and show me the most exciting areas to investigate. I had a wonderful time taking the pictures for this family, as well as learning lots of exciting animal facts from their eldest. Thank you Henry, I do love animal facts!

Introducing Gorgeous Leah, new born photography London

This is beautiful baby Leah. She was such an angel during this Family Lifestyle photoshoot in West Sussex and her expressions were delightful. I wish I saw the world how Leah see’s it in this picture.

This session was given as a gift to the new family using a Christmas Family Lifestyle Photography Gift Voucher. This made the shoot extra special, knowing that it was a present for the new family of three. It was a lovely shoot to do as we were all celebrating the arrival of beautiful baby Leah. Shooting in clients homes works wonders when capturing new borns. The baby is familiar with the surroundings and therefore easier to settle, position and pose for new born images. It is also a more relaxed location for the parents. There is no anxiety about having to take your new born baby out to a studio. You can be reassured that everything you need is right there with you at home. This also works wonders for any little accidents and outfit changes. Leah saved her only little accident for the naked shots on Daddy’s arm. Brilliant timing Leah! Loved it! It was such a pleasure to capture these images for the family and I look forward to seeing all that Leah brings to these wonderful new parents. Congratulations Callum and Kate. She is beautiful!

Cornish Bride

A beautiful moment in a stunning location. We had such a great time on Mawgan Porth beach in Cornwall.

A chilly but wonderful morning spent on the beach capturing this beautiful bride! The sun came out just when we needed it to and there were many laughs had when waves took us by surprise. Every time I shoot with The Park at Mawgan Porth beach I leave with very wet feet and jeans. I wouldn’t have it any other way :)

Best Friends

One of my favourite afternoons on the tea estates in Maskeliya, Sri Lanka.

BestFriends>TealeafPickers>Maskeliya (1 of 1).jpg

For ten hours a day these women pick tea barefoot underneath the red hot sun. With big smiles and welcoming gestures they beckoned me towards them, inviting my lens into their world. Little English was spoken, but a lot of laughter had as they posed for the camera, carefully reviewing each and every snap I took of them. A lovely encounter with a delightful pair.

Behind the Scenes

The preparation before the two-night festival of Navam Perahera, in Colombo Sri Lanka.

BehindTheScenes>Colombo>SriLanka>RosieMarksPhotography.jpg

Off the main processional streets hundreds of Sri Lankan performers rehearse and prepare for the upcoming two-night festival of Navam Perahera. First celebrated in 1979 it has become one of Sri Lanka’s biggest and most extravagant Pereheras. Held on the February Poya, the procession begins at the Gangaramaya Temple and travels around Viharamahadevi Park and Beira Lake in Colombo.

One More Game

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in Sri Lanka. Boys and young men take every opportunity to practice the game they love from dawn until dusk.

OneMoreGame_Boosa_SriLanka (1 of 1).jpg

Boosa Beach, Sri Lanka.

As odd as it sounds this is a picture I tried my hardest not to take. While watching the beautiful sunset on Boosa beach in Sri Lanka I made a conscious decision to push my DSLR camera out of reach to be present in the moment and soak in my surroundings with my wonderful partner Jo. The composition however was developing in front our eyes, Sri Lanka’s strong association with cricket partnered with it’s well known stunning beaches. Itching to take the photo but committed to sharing the moment it wasn’t until Jo said “that’s an incredible image…why are you not taking the picture?” that I ran off to beat the sunset to compose the photograph. Sometimes there are moments that just need to be captured! Thank you Jo!
